SQL Statements Course

Understanding SQL statements is essential for writing efficient web-based data manipulation programs. You will learn:

• What is SQL?
• Building Database and tables
• SQL Queries
• SQL data type syntax
• Basics
• Select statement
• The LIKE statement and wildcard patterns
• Use the WHERE clause to specify a criteria for the selection
• Use AND and OR to join two or more conditions in a WHERE clause.
• Use BETWEEN....AND to find data in a range.
• use the DISTINCT keyword to return only different values in a column.
• Use ORDER BY to return rows in ascending or descending order.
• Using the INSERT statement to insert new rows into a table
• Using the UPDATE statement to update or change rows in a table.
• Using the built-in COUNT function
• Using other SQL built-in functions
• Use the GROUP BY function
• Using the HAVING statement
• Use aliases for column names and table names
• Delete records using SQL
• SQL join, inner join, left join and right join statements
• Use the ALTER TABLE, CREATE TABLE & DROP TABLE statements
• Create Tables with Table constraints using SQL

All the exercises with the SQL commands will be tested using ASP and Microsoft SQL Server 2000.
